NIDO Worldwide Leadership Commends the Distinguished Senate President Dr, Bukola Saraki and the 8th NASS for Passing the Diaspora Commission Bill on March 30, 2017
NIDO Worldwide Leadership hereby commends the 8th Senate under the leadership of the Distinguished Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki for passing the Diaspora Commission Bill on March 30, 2017. Special recognition to Senator Rose Okoji Oko, the Chairman for Senate Committee for Diaspora & Civil Societies and Honorable Rita Orji, Chairman for House Committee on Diaspora Matters for championing the passage of the Bill in the Senate.
This is a remarkable feat by the 8th Senate; especially, after the delegation of NIDO Leadership were promised the passage of the Diaspora Commission Bill before April 2017. NIDO Leadership is impressed that the 8th Senate kept its promise to the important and diverse population of the Nigerian Diaspora. More importantly, we urge the 8th Senate to get the Bill to the table of President Muhammadu Buhari for his assent and signature as soon as possible.
Finally, the NIDO Leadership is encouraged, and revitalized to work hand in hand with the 8th NASS to craft, draft and pass bills that will help build a better Nigeria. Moreover, NIDO Leadership is willing to partner with the 8th NASS to embark on practical and sustainable projects within Nigeria, and to provide professional consultation on a wide variety of solutions to the myriad problems of national development.
