Apostle Patrick A. Nwanze, the President-General of the Apex Association of Anioma Indigenes Inc. (AAAI) and Convener of the South-South and Southeast Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Business Summit, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Senator Azuta Mbata on his historic election as President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
Nwanze, who played a pivotal role as a delegate in the recent Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide NEC elections, expressed his optimism about Senator Mbata’s leadership. As the first leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide from Rivers State, Senator Mbata’s election represents a significant step toward greater inclusivity and unity among Igbos in both the South-South and Southeast regions.
Highlighting Senator Mbata’s potential to unite the Igbo people, Nwanze advised the new leader to remain steadfast in his commitment to progress and to ignore distractions that may arise. He emphasized that true leadership requires focus, resilience, and a vision for the collective good of the people.
Under Senator Mbata’s guidance, Nwanze envisions a robust framework for:
- Fostering Unity and Development: Strengthening the bond among Igbo communities across different regions while addressing common challenges.
- Promoting Cultural Heritage: Showcasing and preserving the rich traditions, values, and aspirations of the Igbo people.
- Strengthening Identity and Economic Ties: Enhancing the sense of identity and fostering economic collaborations between Igbos in the South-South and Southeast regions.
Apostle Nwanze expressed his confidence in Senator Mbata’s ability to lead Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide into a new era of unity, inclusiveness, and cultural renaissance. As an Anioma indigene, Nwanze sees this leadership transition as an opportunity to amplify the contributions of Anioma and Rivers State Igbos to the broader Igbo nation, while advancing the collective progress of Ndigbo worldwide.
Senator Azuta Mbata’s tenure is expected to usher in transformative initiatives that will unify the Igbo people, celebrate their heritage, and build a future of prosperity for generations to come.
Nwanze (Agu Anioma) draws the PG’s attention to Lagos State chapter of Ohanaeze with the view of making sure Anioma and River State are left to bring the next State president in a rotational order without any contention from other States as this has created unrest in the past. Intimidation of these two states is unacceptable. The national rotational/ zoning leadership should be adopted by Abuja and Lagos State.
