All is set, starting from 11th July to honor and lay to rest our beloved brother, Mr. Emmanuel Iwebunankiti Gbandi, affectionately known as “Iwee.” Born on August 2, 1955, in the Umu Onai village of Akwukwu-Igbo in Oshimili North LGA of Delta State, Iwee was the fifth of ten children born to the late Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka and Ezinne Victoria Akuchukwu Gbandi.

Iwee’s educational journey began at St. Raphael’s Primary School and continued at Akwukwu-Igbo Grammar School. Demonstrating an early passion for technical skills, he pursued further studies at Technical School in Benin City, where he earned Trade Test Grade 1. Living with his elder sister, Dame Adeline Mokogwu, in Benin City, he set the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and perseverance.

In search of better opportunities, Iwee moved to Lagos, where he worked as a Technical Assistant in a cosmetics production company. His dedication and technical acumen led him to a position at UAC Limited’s Technical Department as a full-fledged technician. Ever in pursuit of a better life, he eventually moved to Warri, securing employment with an oil servicing company. There, he excelled in maintaining air conditioners, showcasing his technical expertise and commitment to excellence.

Iwee was a gentleman to the core, known for his kindness and concern for others. He was deeply loved by his peers and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle nature and caring spirit made a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. His absence will be profoundly felt by his family, friends, and community.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by his wife, children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncle, and cousins. As we bid farewell to our dear brother Iwee, we take comfort in knowing that his gentle soul rests in the bosom of the Lord.

May his memory be a blessing to us all. Adieu, beloved brother Iwee. May your gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.
