Foundation members took turns emphasizing that the establishment of ADPPM was a long-overdue necessity, designed to unify diaspora members across political lines and recognize them as proactive contributors to national development. They unanimously agreed that the initiative seeks to rise above divisive narratives that have always sought to label every Diaspora initiative that seeks good governance as anti-Nigeria and anti-government by some of the political elites and individuals on the government payroll and reaffirms the commitment of the diaspora to good governance irrespective of political affiliation. The current executive will serve in an interim capacity until the next convention. Ade Balogun, the adviser on Strategic Relations and Director Americas chapter concluded that the journey toward a united and impactful diaspora political engagement has just begun.
