Why I want to negotiate with Boko Haram

Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was recently in Germany to solicit help in tackling the security problem in Nigeria and as well to strengthen the relationship existing between the two countries.
Amongst his high powered delegations that accompanied him were; Mrs. Sarah Reng Ochekpe, Minister of Water Resources; Dr Peter Obi Governor of Anambra State, Murtala Nyarko of Adamawa State ; Minister for Petroleum Resources, Mrs Deziani Alison-Madueke; Prof Bath Nnaji-Minister for Power ; Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, Minister for Interior and Mr Olusegun Aganga, Minister for trade and investment.
Reacting to the questions concerning the faces behind the Boko Haram and what he is doing to guarantee security in Nigeria during a media interaction with international press that includes,TAZ Berlin,Financial Times Frankfurt,Franfurter Algemain, Spiegel, Tide, African Heritage and Heritage TV Hamburg on Thursday 19th April,2012, Dr Jonathan explained that his administration and the security agencies are working hard to solve the problem, noting that the issue of terrorism is new to Nigerian.
He further stated that though the security agencies have identified some elements within Boko Haram, the organization still remain faceless. He justified his decision to negotiate with them if that will put an end to the unnecessary waste of life and properties. He concluded however that negotiation is only possible if you know with whom to talk with and what their motives are.
