Citing his firm belief in the sanctity of the judiciary and democratic principles, the senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Delta North ,Hon. (Dr) Kenneth Gbandi, has congratulated Senator Ned Nwoko over the affirmation of his victory by the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba.
Gbandi in his goodwill message contained in a statement,said after many months of legal battle, the Justice Catherine Ogunsanya- led National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State, on Thursday September 7, 2023 affirmed the PDP candidate, Senator Ned Nwoko’s victory.
He further stressed that the tribunal’s judgment could be considered as further affirmation of the people’s will, pledging to rally support both locally and internationally for the senator to ensure a better deal for Delta North,Delta State and Nigeria in general.
“I welcome and rejoice in Senator Ned Nwoko promise to promote the best interests of the Anioma people and all residents of Delta North which he will pursue with unwavering commitment“.
He however, added: “l will engage our distinguished senator in constructive, effective, and responsible opposition, to make sure that the development trajectory of Delta North is improved and sustained for equal, fair, just and a strong united Delta State that will be the destination for smart investment and youth capacity building.”
The ADC candidate also commended his family, siblings, party’s leadership and teeming supporters for not only believing in his people-centric brand of politics, but for their moral and financial support.
He added “Despite not achieving the aim of getting the Delta North people’s mandate for robust representation at the Upper Chambers, but in all things, I am extremely grateful that the ADC and its star alliance partners have redrawn the political map in Nigeria and Delta North and set a historic, patriotic, pragmatic, and responsible politicking where the people come first.”
He continued: “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity given me to run for one of the highest public offices in Nigeria for the sole purpose of enriching the lives of my people, as I have done actively for the past three decades of my life, both locally and in the Diaspora.”
